Built by a watch addict.
TimeSplice started with a lifelong fascination with watches, an idea for a watch of my own and the realisation that other collectors must have designs living in their heads too.
Why I built TimeSplice
Jacob, founder of TimeSplice
Like many of us, I somehow got myself hooked on watches.
It started when I was young. My father had a TAG Heuer Aquaracer and the James Bond Omega Seamaster. Somehow, although perhaps not surprisingly, those watches left a lasting imprint on me.
I started working in sales at 17 and, at 21, bought myself a TAG Heuer Aquaracer. Now, at 36, I own more than 20 watches. I became heavily involved in watch collecting around two years ago and have worked my way through plenty of microbrands as well as the major household names. My favourite watch of all time, so far, is my Omega Aqua Terra.
As I watched new watch brands appear and release their own designs, I started developing a watch concept of my own. It became serious. I went through design after design and genuinely explored what it might take to make it real. In the end, I decided the financial risk was not worth taking. That decision is where the idea for TimeSplice came from.
I am not trying to change the game or manufacture watches. I just know that plenty of collectors and hobbyists must have wondered what it would be like to create a watch of their own. TimeSplice is a place to explore those ideas, combine the design cues we love and see what might have existed.
I hope you enjoy it. It is meant to be a bit of fun, but I am committed to improving it, listening to feedback and building a genuinely enjoyable community for fellow watch addicts.
The idea
Choose two watches and combine their design DNA, or start from a blank page in the Design Lab. The aim is not a collage. It is a new watch that feels coherent enough to exist.
Every concept belongs to a creator. The community can give it a SpliceScore out of 10, leave constructive comments and create remixes whose ancestry stays attached.
Current concept imagery is a shared preview while the visual generation pipeline is being built. Your accounts, profiles, scores, comments and concept records are the real foundation.
